Orchid exists to save men's lives from testicular, prostate and penile cancers
through pioneering research and promoting awareness

The Orchid Male Cancer Awareness Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of male specific cancers. Every year over 37,000 men will be diagnosed with testicular, prostate or penile cancer. Yet given the figures there is still limited knowledge of these cancers amongst the general public. Early detection, diagnosis and treatment can make a difference, helping to increase survival rates and ultimately save men’s lives. And everyone has a role to play – whether they are a wife or partner, family member or friend, healthcare professional or employer.

The campaign is an important event in Orchid’s calendar. It is an opportunity to provide practical advice and information on the detection, diagnosis and treatment of male cancers, to share the latest news on research developments and treatments, to highlight key issues and for people to talk about their personal experiences of male cancer.
The key focus of the Week this year is promoting awareness of testicular cancer.
In support of Orchid Male Cancer Awareness Week, individuals have the opportunity to sign up to the Orchid 5K Blue River Run on Wednesday 25th April 2012.
The 5K course will start and finish at The Square in St Bartholomew’s Hospital and the route will take runners along the River Thames, past some of London's most iconic landmarks. So if you're up for the challenge why not sign up today!
If you would kindly like to sell our Checked Out wristbands or pin badges on our behalf during the Week please e-mail admin@orchid-cancer.org.uk.
