GCS Recruitment Specialists supporting Orchid in 2011/2012

As part of a revamped CSR initiative in line with an ongoing five-year Vision plan, GCS is delighted to count Orchid as one of its three charities for 2011/2012.

Having already participated in several sponsored events to raise money, including Managing Director David Bloxham cycling from London to Bristol, GCS also regularly holds charity raffles at various corporate events, the next one being the GCS Digital Media annual Paintball Challenge on 1st September in London.

GCS grants all employees an extra day annual leave in order to pursue a charity related endeavour and operates a pound-matching policy, doubling all monies raised for charity by GCS staff.

"Throughout our 20 years of trading, we have always tried to support charities wherever possible" comments GCS founder Chris Bartlett. "When we sat down in 2010 to put into place our five-year Vision plan however, the senior management team felt extremely strongly about making sure we were giving something back so a focused CSR initiative was integrated into the Vision - it's something that has been welcomed with open arms by the whole of GCS and everyone is keen to contribute."

Photo of GCS directorsBartlett himself is no stranger to contributing, having led from the front when a team of GCS employees undertook the Three Peaks Challenge in 2010, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon during a single weekend. "I'm not sure I'll be climbing any more mountains in the near future" says Bartlett "but I'm certain other sets of somewhat younger legs will be happy to follow in my footsteps. Orchid is a superb charity and one we are extremely proud to support."
