Hospital radiologists and radiographers from Croydon have followed in the footsteps of the ‘Calendar Girls’ by launching their own semi-nude but tasteful calendar in the hope they can raise thousands of pounds for Orchid.
The consultants and radiographers from Shirley Oaks in Surrey came up with the idea as they all wanted to help make a difference to Orchid. The group posed for the photographs using strategically placed radiology equipment including CT and MRI scanners to help theme the calendar and to make sure they all retained their modesty.
The calendar for 2011 was officially unveiled to the public at a gala charity night held at Selsdon Park and Golf Club in Sanderstead, South Croydon on Friday 1st October 2010. Everything for the night was sourced for free including the venue so Orchid would like to thank everyone involved for their help and support. The black tie event, organised by the radiology team at Shirley Oaks, raised over £2,000 for the charity, with proceeds from the calendar still to come. Congratulations and thank you!
