The British Gas Great North Swim takes place in the scenic Lake Windermere, Cumbria. Surrounded by some of the nation’s most spectacular natural scenery – the Lake District National Park – the British Gas Great North Swim is an inspiring outdoor swim and in 2009 was voted the 5th top open swim in the world.
This event was the inspiration for the Great British Swim Series and in 2009 an impressive 6,000 took part over the two days. No need to be an experienced swimmer this one mile open water swim is open to swimmers of all abilities so make sure you book early to avoid disappointment!
