Orchid exists to save men's lives from testicular, prostate and penile cancers
through pioneering research and promoting awareness

Volunteer

As an Orchid volunteer you can make a real difference to work we do. We are always seeking new volunteers to help us during busy periods in the office and at events. There is no minimum requirement for the amount of hours or days, but we would appreciate as much of your time as you can give.

Some ideas of ways you can help us are:

  • Helping out in our London office during busy periods with mailings, event registrations, promotional work or by offering any of your professional services
  • Volunteering at events
  • Promote Orchid merchandise – please see our online shop
  • Organising an awareness event in your local area – we can provide you with information material such as leaflets, posters etc
  • Share your story
  • Being a member of our editorial board
  • Become a volunteer speaker - you will be fully trained and supported to attend events on behalf of Orchid and increase much needed awareness of male cancers

If you are looking for a career within the charity sector this is a great way to gain valuable experience. We are a small, friendly team and can offer you training on our in-house database, Raiser’s Edge.

If you would like to find out about volunteering at Orchid, please contact us on 0203 465 5766 or email info@orchid-cancer.org.uk

“'The overriding feeling I get from volunteering for Orchid is simply that it is a lot of fun!! I have met an array of new and exciting people who are genuinely motivated and passionate about making a difference and that in turn motivates me to do the same. Intrinsically, volunteering for Orchid is threefold, it allows me to do something self fulfilling purely because i enjoy it, the second is that it allows me to raise the profile of Testicular Cancer and Orchid in a way that people can relate to, ensuring the charity is recognized for its amazing efforts and thirdly, it has allowed me to learn and practice new skills and experiences which have helped me with my own direction in life. Ultimately it has been the best decision I have ever made'”

“We have volunteered at Orchid’s Essex cycle ride for the past 4 years. We love being part of the day, providing directions and moral support to the cyclists. A close friend of ours has prostate cancer, so we are delighted to help out in any way we can for such a great cause”

“I worked 3 days a week with Orchid for 6 months. I was involved in a number of different areas which enabled me to gain valuable experience in the charity sector. I now have a full time job and am grateful to all the staff at Orchid for their support”
